Blog Post 9

I've never really brought up my problem with citation via blogger so I guess I'll make this post about it. I took some accelerated courses in high school to cover my English 101 class when I became a Freshman in college, but I lost my grade in the course due to bad citation on my research projects. It took me a while to get used to MLA format and the certain citation process that went along with it and I believe this was the main cause to why my papers received poor grading.

I feel like citation is completely necessary, but the very importance of it at the same time is a little pestering. I agree using someones words without proper acknowledgement towards them is unfair, but shouldn't you appreciate the face that someone else wants to quote your writing? Oh well, the rules are the rules and I abide by them. I feel like now that I've had some experience working with it I'll do really well this time in my research project.

  1. I think citation is completely necessary. I would hate for someone to use my artwork without them giving credit to me. I would be quite upset actually. We do feel proud when someone uses our work, but you have to make sure you give the person whose work you are using credit. Ya know what i mean jelly bean?

  2. I think it is important to give the writer credit for there work. But I think alot of it is over exaggerated. Like why be so stressed to detail for a pointless paper to be read once.

  3. I have always thought to compile ideas and make your own. In college that won't work which sucks. All I know is that citation is an educated way of showing that you have educated your self. I do agree with Bryce that we should give credit to the writer.

  4. I agree it is extremely important that we give credit to writer for there work because we would not like anyone to take credit for our work.
